I bought this game for one of my nephews a few days ago, and he hasn’t stopped playing with it since. He says that the game was much easier than he expected because the Mystery Dungeon series is known for being extremely difficult. He was really happy about this change, and also the fact that he can call for help through the Nintendo DS wi-fi capabilities every time he dies in the dungeon.

Just like the crossword puzzles in the print edition, the puzzles in this game are tough.

The difficulty varies based on the day of the week. Monday and Tuesday puzzles are the easiest, and they get tougher as the week progresses.

Solving the Crosswords

The game is very easy to use. Its pan and zoom feature lets you fit the entire puzzle or just a section of it on the bottom screen. This is good for zooming in on a section if you have a problem viewing small text.

The top screen has the clues and corresponding boxes in large print. So people with impaired vision can play this game with ease.

Navigating around the puzzle is easy as well. You’re able to jump to different sections of the puzzle using the stylus or the button control pad. To input your answers, write them with the stylus using the handwriting recognition feature. If you prefer to type, enter your answers using an onscreen pop-up keyboard.

I'm buying my 5 year old son a Nintendo DS for Christmas. (He turns 6 a week after Christmas.) I'm thinking about getting him the following games:
Spore Creatures, Diddy Kong Racing, Lego Indiana Jones, and Mario Kart. There are also a couple versions of Sonic, Spongebob, and Pokemon games that looked cute.
Would you recommend these for an almost-6 year old boy? He has very basic reading skills, so I don't know how advanced these games would be for him, if they have on-screen directions, or if they would just be difficult to play.

Classic Mario revamped for the DS. This game never really gets old and throw in the mega mushroom to grow to giant size and just wreck everything in your path. Mario also gets a few new moves in this one like the stomp. Includes two multiplayer modes, Mario vs. Luigi and some mini-games. The mini-games are alright and will occupy you a little bit, but it doesn’t compare to the vs. mode where you compete with a buddy through the various levels.

believe it or not i am already making my christmas list, and i want some ds games. i already know i want imagine babies, and the club penguin ds game to come out in november. i was looking at forums and stuff and saw lost in blue. i looked at it, and most people said they didn't like lost in blue 1 because the girl was useless. i find that sexist and it probably would be boring. i didn't see much about the other 2 versions. what do you think? which version is the best? 1, 2, or 3?
